Recently I heard a friend say that being a mother is a lot of hard work, punctuated by moments of joy. Not the other way around. And punctuation does just that doesn't it? It's put into a phrase to clarify meaning or to separate thoughts or to accentuate.
That's exactly what those moments of joy do. They bring clarity, meaning, purpose, help you separate what's important from what's not and accentuate all that's good in your life. Here are a few of moments of joy that have punctuated my most recent days:
The silly faces Cameron makes.

Seeing Ty's goofy little smile when he's posing for a picture.

Watching how happy it made Cameron to play in this dirt and not worrying about how dirty he was getting.
Catching Cameron trying to escape.
Finding Ty's cousin Abrie reading to him in his room.
Finding Ty and his cousins playing video games in my bedroom.
Watching these two ride the scooter up and down the block.
Realizing it's way too quiet then finding this cute little scene in the living room. The two fell asleep in their fort.
Those may not seem so exciting to anyone else but for me those are just a very small sampling of the punctuation marks that make it all worth it.
